Aristotle wrote about the “stream of time” in his book “Physics IV”.  Way back in the 1890’s, William James also talked abou the idea of linear memory storage. So the idea of a Time Line is not new. Your “Time Line” is how you unconsciously store your memories, your memories of the past and your memories of the future. Imagine that….having a future memory. Unconsciously, you are aware of what is the difference between a memory from the past and a memory from the future or what we could call a future projection. As we journey through life, all of our memories are recorded and stored unconsciously and interestingly, over time they have a significant influence on our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Our “Time Line” is the index to the memory encoding of the unconscious mind, and it is usually wholly unconscious.

When a person makes a change in their behaviour it takes places at the unconscious level – not the conscious level.  Time Line Therapy™ techniques allow you to work at the unconscious level and let go of the effects of past negative experiences and transform “inappropriate” programming in minutes rather than days, months or years.

Notes on the Unconscious Mind: In the context of Time Line Therapy ™, the words “unconscious mind” are not intended to represent anything unusual or mysterious. Unconscious mind is simply the part of your mind of which you are not conscious, right now. Your unconscious mind is an extremely important part of who you are. Consider for just a moment, that Unconsious mind is a part of you that runs your body, 24/7. It makes your heart beat, keeps you breathing, regulates the release of hormones, digests your food and is in charge of many other tasks that you’re probably never even thought about before.
