Overview:
Year 8 has proven to be a crucial time for students: solid foundations laid down now can help prepare them for the future, and can make a world of difference to their success. The job of Head of Year 8, however, is often a very time consuming and stressful one, and the bigger picture can get lost in day-to-day issues.
Year 8 students can often feel adrift. No longer the youngest in the school, but not yet ready for KS3 SATs testing, they feel like the ‘inbetweenies'! The eagerness with which they started Year 7 has often evaporated into the ether, along with their participation in class and the general engagement with their learning. This can make it difficult to keep the momentum going, ensuring that all Year 8s make the most of their potential.
But it's not impossible, and that is where this course steps in. Specifically designed for Heads of Year 8, it is lively and practical, and offers tons of ideas, techniques and inspiration to help support your team so that you can really work together to make a positive difference to a ‘world-weary' Year 8's outlook!
